Moravske Toplice, Slovenia - The 1st Police and Customs Cooperation Centres (PCCCs) Conference between Western Balkan Countries and EU Member States was co-organised by the PCC SEE Secretariat and the German Federal Police in the framework of the German-led ISEC project. Approximately 40 police experts from PCCCs and national (border) police departments from EU Member States and Western Balkan countries (including all PCC SEE Contracting Parties) were represented, as well as Frontex, PAMECA, EULEX and the PCC SEE Secretariat. The objective of the conference was to discuss the role of PCCCs in information exchange and options to enhance respective cooperation and coordination. EU PCCC experts familiarized the participants with the relevant operational functions of the SIENA information exchange application and the German VoDoS case management system. Participants acquainted each other with the development, procedures and the relevant systems implemented in the PCCCs with their neighbouring countries. The possibility has been discussed for the PCC SEE Contracting Parties (including non-EU) to access the EPE community for PCCCs.
