PCC SEE Meeting of Police Directors-General


Sofia, Bulgaria - The PCC SEE Meeting of Police Directors-General was organised back-to-back with the SEPCA General Assembly meeting, hosted by the Bulgarian SEPCA Chairmanship on 23 November 2016 in Sofia. The meeting, convened under the auspices of the Montenegrin PCC SEE Chairmanship-in-Office with support from the PCC SEE Secretariat, addressed the strategic outlook for the PCC SEE implementation process and highlighted some of the operational developments in the PCC SEE region, such as the establishment of fugitive active search teams, common operations performed under the DCAF Border Security Programme and joint threat assessments. The participants were also informed on the development of the Integrative Internal Security Governance and its contribution to the development of police cooperation in the region, as well as the IPA project “Prosecutors’ Network of the Western Balkans”. It was reiterated that only with joint efforts it is possible to fight organised and serious crime and that the PCC SEE is a strong instrument in this regard. The PCC SEE Secretariat invited all general police directorates of the Contracting Parties to actively engage in the setting of the PCC SEE implementation process by voicing their operational interests and contributing to the development of specific fields.
