15th Meeting of the PCC SEE Committee of Ministers
Vienna, Austria - The 15th Meeting of the PCC SEE Committee of Ministers, convened under the auspices of the Moldovan Chairmanship-in-Office with support from the PCC SEE Secretariat and hosted by the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior, took place on 10-11 May 2016 in Vienna. As the meeting coincided with the 10th anniversary since the signing of this multilateral treaty for cross-border law enforcement cooperation, the highest PCC SEE statutory body looked back at the development and achievements over the past decade, welcomed the findings of the PCC SEE Secretariat’s recent monitoring activities, and shared their views on the future of the PCC SEE implementation process. They adopted an important decision related to automated data exchange, which foresees the establishment of an EU Prüm-inspired framework for Southeast Europe even before all PCC SEE Contracting Parties will join the EU. The activities for the preparation of the necessary legal and technical documents for automated exchange of DNA, dactyloscopic and vehicle registration data, will begin immediately.
