19th Meeting of the PCC SEE Committee of Ministers
Vienna, Austria - The PCC SEE Committee of Ministers met in Vienna for the 19th time in its statutory capacity of the highest PCC SEE decision-making body. The meeting was held under the auspices of the Bosnia and Herzegovina PCC SEE Chairmanship-in-Office, in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior as the host and with the support of the PCC SEE Secretariat. Ministers of home affairs and authorised representatives from the now 12 Contracting Parties addressed both the current challenges and opportunities in the PCC SEE Plus implementation process, which since September 2018 encompasses not only the PCC SEE but also the newly established legal framework for automated exchange of DNA, dactyloscopic and vehicle registration data in the PCC SEE region. In this regard, the Committee of Ministers agreed to promptly initiate negotiations for a Protocol amending the PCC SEE. The meeting was also attended by several PCC SEE Plus Partners, who have substantially contributed to the PCC SEE implementation process as co-drivers and the Committee of Ministers welcomed the incentive to continue seeking further synergies and avoiding overlapping of efforts.
