Cross-border Surveillance Exercise between Albania - Macedonia
The exercise, which was performed under Article 11 of PCC SEE, is of utmost importance, as for the first time the police officers of one Contracting party entered the territory of another Contracting Party performing police operations and, by this means, strengthen the cross-border police cooperation among the countries concerned and Western Balkan States.
The aim of the Cross-border Surveillance Exercise is to train surveillance police officers from Albania and Macedoina on the legal and practical aspects of Cross-border Surveillance and Controlled Delivery, to detect possible difficulties, to identify legal and practical gaps and to examine the way to solve them in the compliance with the EU standards, EU Member States best practises and relevant international rules and standards. The results of the exercise will be of the major importance for the bilateral negotiations between the respective countries of the implementation agreement on Article 14 and 15 PCC SEE.
Experts from EUROPOL, Slovenia, Swizerland and SECI Centre particpated in the exercise as observers.
