Cross-border Surveillance exercise between Montenegro and Albania
The first Cross-border surveillance exercise between Montenegro and the Republic of Albania was organized by the Surveillance Units of Montenegro together with the Surveillance Units of Albania and the Federal Ministry of Interior of Austria and European Commission, supported by the PCC SEE Secretariat, in Podgorica, Montenegro, from 17 - 21 October 2011.
All together 40 participants (surveillance officers from Albania and Montenegro, a psychologist, a prosecutor, reprensentatives from NCU Montenegro and International Department Montenegro, Border Police Montenegro) and two observers from Slovenia and EUROPOL took part in this exercise. It was the first time that the Heads of the Surveillance Units and Surveillance officers met and operated on the territory of the neighbouring country. Special attention was given to finding a solution in solving the language barriere during operational cooperation on the field. The exercises fostered the exchange of personal contact details between the Heads of the Surveillance Units and Team leaders.
