Regional seminar on Common Centres in the western Balkans area
The topic of the meeting was the establishmant of the common centres - the French experts presented the history of the common centres in the EU, their mission and operation based on French examples and experiences. The problems regarding illegal migration, trafficking in human beings and illicit drugs via the Balkan axle were also presented.
Notification of similar three workshops held on this topic, namely between Macedonia and Kosovo (Tetovo, 15 – 16 February 2012), Serbia and Hungary (Subotica, 7 – 8 March 2012) and Albania and Montenegro (Shkoder, 25 – 26 April 2012) was given. The intention is to organize additional workshops between Serbia and Croatia in Bajakovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia in Metković, and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro in Trebinje.
PCC SEE Secretariat actively participated at the meeting and at the 2nd day which was devoted to the development of common centres presented the importance of the PCC SEE, which presents the legal basis for the establishment of the CCCs and exchange of data and information, and at the same time the participants were introduced with the draft of bi- or multilateral agreement prepared by the Secretariat, the draft of rules and procedures, and recommendations regarding required personnel and technical systemization for effective work of common centres.
