Conference on "Combating Transnational Organized Crime and Enhancing Border Security Processes"
DCAF Ljubljana participated in the international conference on "Combating Transnational Organized Crime and Enhancing Border Security Processes", which took place from 9-11 April 2013 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The event was co-organized by the Slovenian Police (MoI), George C. Marshall Centre and the Institute for Corporative Security Studies, and brought together experts, academics and policy makers from Southeastern Europe as well as EU and international sphere to share the experiences, best practices and lessons learned. Participants were able to discuss regional and international approaches on how to further tackle transnational organized crime, intensify transnational cross-border (police) cooperation, and to enhance border security in the region. DCAF Ljubljana gave contribution on its core mission and two important regional projects, namely the implementation process of the Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe (PCC SEE) and the Border Security Programme (BSP), culminating in the recent common and coordinated operations' encouraging outcomes.
