2nd Meeting of Informal Negotiations of the EU Prüm-Inspired Framework for Automated Exchange of Data in the PCC SEE Region
Portorož, Slovenia - The 2nd Meeting of Informal Negotiations of the EU Prüm-Inspired Framework for Automated Exchange of Data in the PCC SEE Region was convened in Portorož on 19-20 April 2018, hosted and chaired by the Slovenian PCC SEE Chairmanship-in-Office, co-chaired by the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior and supported by the PCC SEE Secretariat. All Contracting Parties participated in the second informal negotiations on an equal footing.
Following the outcomes of the 1st Meeting of Informal Negotiations of the EU Prüm-Inspired Framework for Automated Exchange of Data in the PCC SEE Region, held in Vienna on 1-2 March 2018, the meeting was dedicated to the second reading of the two legal documents that will be subject to the official negotiations in Vienna on 7-9 May 2018 and subsequent signing at a conference hosted by Austria during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union scheduled for 13-14 September 2018.
The meeting also offered the opportunity to exchange comments on the draft Memorandum of Understanding on the Automated Exchange of DNA, Dactyloscopic and Vehicle Registration Data, which is expected to be signed by all Contracting Parties at the above mentioned conference in addition to the signing of the EU Prüm-inspired framework by those with a mandate.
